US judge delays Lockerbie bombing trial amid new evidence review
A US federal judge has postponed the trial of Abu Agila Masud, the Libyan man accused of making the bomb that destroyed Pan Am Flight 103 over Scotland in 1988. Jury selection had been due to begin in Washington DC this week, but the court pushed the proceedings back after defence lawyers asked for time to review new evidence. Masud has denied the charge.The delay was ordered by Judge Dabney Friedrich, who cited newly discovered material and evidence located in other countries.
