UK inquiry finds Southport knife attack could have been prevented

A public inquiry has found that the deadly knife attack at a children's dance class in Southport in July 2024 could have been prevented.The attacker, Axel Rudakubana, killed three young girls and injured others during the incident.The victims were Alice da Silva Aguiar, aged nine, Bebe King, aged six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, aged seven.Eight other children and two adults were also severely injured in the attack.Rudakubana was sentenced to a minimum of 52 years in prison.The inquiry report, chaired by Sir Adrian Fulford, identified multiple failures by agencies and the attacker's parents that allowed the attack to occur.The report...
