Europol backs crackdown on Camorra-linked euro counterfeiting network
Europol supported an international operation against a criminal network linked to the Italian mafia-type organisation Camorra. The action was coordinated by the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office and the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor's Office. Authorities carried out six arrest warrants and simultaneous searches at 16 residential and commercial properties across Germany, Italy and Spain. The operation focused on a network involved in large-scale euro counterfeiting. In Germany, officers seized two illegally held pistols with ammunition.
