Early on Saturday, French police arrested a man attempting to detonate a homemade explosive device outside a Bank of America branch in the city's 8th arrondissement, near the iconic Champs-Élysées. The attempted attack occurred approximately at 3:30 AM local time, or 02:30 GMT, as authorities acted to neutralise the threat posed by the suspect who had just placed the device.
