UN says US strikes on alleged drug boats may amount to crimes against humanity
A United Nations special rapporteur has concluded that recent US airstrikes on vessels allegedly trafficking drugs in the Caribbean and Pacific may have breached international law and could amount to crimes against humanity. The finding focuses on a campaign of strikes carried out outside US territorial waters and comes amid continuing questions over the legal basis for the operation.
