Trial begins for man accused of murdering County Mayo resident John Casserley in alleged stabbing incident
The trial of a 33-year-old man accused of murdering John Casserley, a 59-year-old resident of County Mayo, has commenced at the Central Criminal Court. Opening statements outlined the grisly circumstances of the crime, wherein Mr Casserley was reportedly stabbed 27 times in an incident described by the prosecution as "almost indescribable savagery."
