Russia parliamentary election results point to United Russia landslide
Preliminary results from Russia's parliamentary election point to a dominant victory for United Russia, the party of President Vladimir Putin. With more than 90% of ballots counted, the ruling party was leading comfortably in the vote for the State Duma, the lower house of parliament. The election ran from Friday to Sunday and took place amid the war in Ukraine, economic hardship and tight limits on opposition campaigning.The Central Election Commission said 90.43% of ballots had been counted, according to figures reported on Monday.
