Typhoon Bavi drives mass evacuations in eastern China as death toll rises in the Philippines
China has now moved more than 2 million people from risk areas as Typhoon Bavi approaches the country's east coast, with the storm forecast to reach Zhejiang province near Wenzhou overnight. Officials said more than 1.7 million people were evacuated in Zhejiang alone, while another 100,000 were moved in neighbouring Fujian province as authorities prepared for heavy rain, strong winds and possible flooding.
