The United States has sanctioned Chinese-Fijian businessman Zhao Fugang over allegations of significant corruption linked to China-based actors. The designation was announced by the US State Department and centres on Zhao's role as director of the Overseas Chinese Service Center in Fiji. According to the statement, Zhao and his immediate family will generally be ineligible to enter the United States.The US said Zhao abused his public position by paying bribes to Fijian citizens in order to advance China-based government, business and criminal interests.
