French farmers protest at Feyzin refinery over fuel and input costs
French farmers have staged a protest outside the TotalEnergies refinery in Feyzin, near Lyon, over higher diesel prices, rising fertiliser costs and falling cereal prices.Around five tractors gathered at the site early on Monday, and protesters unloaded piles of waste near the refinery entrance.The demonstration was organised by the agricultural union Coordination Rurale.Video from the scene showed riot police monitoring the protest while tanker trucks continued to enter and leave the refinery.The protest highlights the pressure many farmers say they are facing from rising production costs and weaker returns.The refinery is a strategic energy site, so even a limited demonstration...
