Brisbane unveils 80-tonne flood barrier for Cross River Rail station
Engineers in Brisbane have unveiled an 80-tonne mechanical flood barrier designed to protect Albert Street Station, part of the Cross River Rail underground network. The structure, nicknamed the "Esky Lid," is intended to descend over the station entrance if high flooding threatens the site.
