Germany gas storage hits record low for this time of year, industry group says
Germany's gas storage facilities are at a record low for this time of year, according to the gas storage group INES. The group said current storage levels are the lowest ever recorded for late August since records began in 2011. INES managing director Sebastian Heinermann told dpa that the current gas storage level is 49%, compared with 67% at the same time last year. He described the figure as a historic low.
