Major incident declared near RAF Fairford after arrests and evacuations
Gloucestershire Police said the situation near RAF Fairford remained contained on Sunday after evacuating homes in Whelford and arresting several men on suspicion of explosives-related offences. The force said the Army's specialist explosive ordnance disposal team was examining a number of vehicles, while armed police blocked access to the base's main gate.
