India Defends Great Nicobar Project as Strategic Asset in Indo-Pacific
India's defence minister has defended the Great Nicobar Island project as a strategic national initiative, saying it is designed to safeguard the country's maritime and commercial interests in the Indo-Pacific. The remarks came in response to criticism from Congress MP Jairam Ramesh over the scale and purpose of the Rs 81,000 crore scheme.
