Authorities in Belgium and Germany have lifted the last remaining evacuation orders in the border region after firefighters said they had contained the High Fens wildfire. The blaze, which has been burning since Friday, had threatened to spread across the German border before crews gained the upper hand. Firefighters in Belgium are still working to contain a major wildfire in the High Fens nature reserve, where thick smoke has covered the area near the German border. The blaze has scorched around 30 square kilometres, or more than 3,000 hectares, and officials say shifting winds have pushed it eastwards.
