A federal judge in San Diego has ruled in favor of the United States in a wrongful death civil lawsuit alleging excessive force by Border Patrol agents. The lawsuit was filed by the estate of Silvestre Estrada, a human smuggler fatally shot during a smuggling incident, along with two individuals who were being smuggled, Francisco Madariaga and Jaime Madariaga-Gonzalez.
