EU marks 12 years since MH17 downing and backs accountability efforts
On 17 July, we mark the 12th year since the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17. We honour the memory of the 298 innocent people including 80 children of 17 nationalities, a majority of them European citizens, who lost their lives. We express our deepest sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims. The European Union reiterates its full support for all efforts to establish truth, justice and accountability, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2166.
