India rejects Hague ruling on Indus Waters Treaty as Kashmir water dispute deepens
India has rejected a ruling by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague that said the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan remains fully binding. The tribunal also ordered India to limit construction at the Ratle Hydro-Electric Plant in Kashmir, including restrictions on work above certain levels on the dam wall and power intake structure.
