Bangladesh's Khalilur Rahman elected UN General Assembly president
Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman has been elected as the 81st president of the United Nations General Assembly after defeating Cyprus's ambassador, Andreas Kakouris, in a closely contested vote. He will take office when the UNGA session opens in September.
