Lebanese army begins deployment in southern pilot zone as Washington talks continue
Lebanon's army says its units have begun deploying this morning to Zawtar al-Gharbieh in the Nabatieh region, as part of a wider pilot-zone arrangement tied to a Washington-brokered deal with Israel. The move is one of three pilot zones included in the agreement, which links Lebanese troop deployment with the disarmament of Hezbollah and a phased Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon.
