Bangladesh is holding its first contested presidential election in 35 years, with voting taking place in the parliamentary chamber in Dhaka. The contest pits the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party's candidate, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, against Oli Ahmed, the nominee of a Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party opposition alliance.
