Adobe to Pay $150 Million Settlement Over Misleading Subscription Practices

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a proposed court order requiring Adobe Inc. to resolve claims that it violated the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (ROSCA). The government accused Adobe of using fine print and hard-to-find links to obscure key subscription terms and cancellation processes. Under the proposed settlement, Adobe will pay $75 million in civil penalties and offer $75 million worth of free services to customers who were misled.
