The United Nations has said Myanmar's human rights situation has "plummeted to a new low" in a report published on Tuesday. The assessment says civilians continue to face airstrikes, arson attacks, displacement and denial of assistance as fighting grinds on across the country. It also says abuses against the Rohingya minority have worsened sharply in western Rakhine State.The report says Myanmar's military, which seized power in a 2021 coup, has deepened civilian suffering in its effort to secure control and legitimacy.
