Sudan's army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has held unannounced consultations with political and civil society figures in Khartoum on steps towards a national dialogue conference. The discussions were aimed at creating conditions for a broader Sudanese political process, according to political sources familiar with the talks. Sudan crisis deepens as Red Cross warns aid funding falls short
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has urged greater international support for Sudan, saying humanitarian needs are escalating while funding remains far below requirements. The appeal comes as the country enters its 1,200th day of conflict, with war continuing to drive displacement, disease and damage to basic services.
