U.S. Africa Command conducts airstrike targeting al-Shabaab near Jamaame
In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) conducted an airstrike targeting al-Shabaab on July 30, 2026. The strike occurred in the vicinity of Jamaame, approximately 58 km northeast of Kismayo. AFRICOM said the operation was carried out alongside the Federal Government of Somalia and Somali Armed Forces.
