North Korea launches suspected ballistic missile toward Sea of Japan as regional alert rises

Japan said North Korea fired at least one suspected ballistic missile from near its east coast on 20 September, with the projectile believed to have been launched northeastwards from around the Wonsan area. The missile was reported to have travelled about 440 kilometres before landing in the Sea of Japan outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.
