UK Joins Task Force to Eliminate Syria’s Chemical Weapons After Assad’s Fall
The United Kingdom announced its participation in the Breath of Freedom Task Force, a new international effort focused on dismantling Syria’s chemical weapons program after President Bashar al-Assad’s fall in 2024. The UK praised Syria’s new government for working to comply with international obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and UN Security Council resolutions.
