Audi to build $4bn US factory in Georgia amid tariff pressure
Audi has said it will spend $4bn to build its first factory in the United States, with the plant planned for Macon, Georgia. The German carmaker said the project will create 4,500 jobs and will be used to produce its Q7, Q8 and Q9 sport utility vehicles. The announcement comes as Volkswagen, Audi's parent company, faces pressure from steep US tariffs on imports from the European Union.The company said the new site is expected to build 200,000 SUVs a year.
