Irish court suspends sentence in Wicklow child sexual assault case
An Irish court has handed a fully suspended sentence to a Wicklow man convicted of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in Dublin in 2022.Ethan Lacey, 26, was found guilty by a jury of one count of sexual assault of a child.The court heard that the offence took place on 1 August 2022 at a Dublin address.Evidence before the jury said Lacey placed his hands on the child's legs and was seen cupping her genital area while trying to distract her with sweets.Judge Sinéad Ní Chúlacháin said the child's age and the age gap between her and Lacey were aggravating factors.She...
