France says two diplomats detained and one abused by Iranian security services in Tehran
France says two of its embassy officials were detained and interrogated for several hours by Iranian security services in Tehran, in what Paris described as a serious violation of diplomatic immunity. One of the officials was also physically abused before both were able to return to the embassy. The incident took place late on Sunday and was disclosed by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot on Monday.Barrot said the two diplomats were held without reason and questioned for hours before being released.
