A youth-led satirical movement in India has threatened to launch nationwide protests unless the country's chief election officer, Gyanesh Kumar, resigns within 48 hours. The Cockroach Janta Party said demonstrations would begin in Mumbai on October 2 if he does not step down. Preliminary results from Russia's parliamentary election point to a dominant victory for United Russia, the party of President Vladimir Putin.
