The US Senate has passed a sweeping sanctions package targeting Russia's energy revenues, adding fresh pressure on a key source of funding for Moscow's war effort in Ukraine. The legislation now moves to the House of Representatives, but a vote there is not expected until at least early September because of the congressional summer recess.
