North Korea has condemned a new defence cooperation agreement between the United States and South Korea, saying it amounts to an explicit declaration of confrontation. The criticism came on Wednesday, after the two allies agreed to expand intelligence sharing and joint military exercises. Pyongyang said the pact raises the risk of weapons of mass destruction being used on the Korean Peninsula.According to the North Korean defence ministry, the agreement also covers responses to possible attacks involving nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.
