Nine Kazakh military personnel have died after being swept out to sea during naval training exercises on the Caspian coast, according to the country's Defence Ministry. The accident took place on Thursday in western Mangystau region, which borders the Caspian Sea, during a combat training mission. Search and rescue operations were still under way for 10 missing personnel at the time of the latest official update.The ministry said 19 personnel were swept out in total after weather conditions deteriorated suddenly.
