Japan protests to US after Marine arrested over alleged murder in Okinawa
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has formally protested to the United States after a US Marine was arrested in Okinawa on suspicion of robbing and murdering a Japanese woman. Police said the suspect, Lance Corporal Devin Jacob Ballard, 20, is accused of killing 39-year-old Anna Yagi in a hotel in Naha, the capital of the southern prefecture, and taking her wallet and backpack.
