Saudi Arabia says it intercepted drones from Iraq as Houthis target oil sites
Saudi Arabia said it intercepted several drones launched from Iraqi territory and aimed at petroleum facilities in the east of the country and in Riyadh. The defence ministry said the drones were launched by Iran-backed militias, while Yemen's Houthi rebels separately claimed drone attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure. The incidents were reported on Monday and were described by Saudi officials as a threat to critical energy assets.According to the Saudi defence ministry, the drones were launched by what it called Iranian-backed terrorist militias operating from Iraq.
