Tornadoes, heavy rain and powerful winds have battered parts of the northeastern United States, with Atlantic Beach in Long Island, New York, among the areas affected. The same weather system also knocked out power across parts of Delaware's capital. Hurricane Lala weakened to a tropical storm after passing south of Hawaii, but dangerous flooding, strong winds and power outages continued to affect the islands on Sunday.
