Residents in parts of Novosibirsk have been told to stay inside and keep away from windows as Vladimir Putin visits the Siberian city. People living along Bolshevistskaya Street were also warned not to use electronic or optical devices while the president's motorcade passes. Nigeria rescues 308 abductees in major joint security operation
Nigeria's presidency says security forces have rescued 308 people abducted in separate attacks in Niger and Kwara states, in what officials described as the country's largest single-day rescue operation. The victims were recovered from the Kainji Lake National Park area in Niger State during a joint operation involving the military, police, intelligence services and the National Counter-Terrorism Centre.
