Wildfires on the Greek island of Kefalonia forced evacuations on Sunday as flames burned dangerously close to homes and aircraft carried out water drops over the Ionian island. At the same time, a separate fire in western Attica, near Athens, spread toward communities and an industrial district outside Megara.
