UK updates Afghanistan sanctions list with new designations and delistings

On 11 March 2026, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office issued a sanctions notice concerning Afghanistan, detailing updates to the UK Sanctions List. The accompanying document, 23 pages in length and totaling 361 KB, enumerates recently designated individuals and entities as well as those subject to revocations and delistings.

These sanctions measures are implemented under the Afghanistan (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020, which continue the UK's commitment to United Nations sanctions regimes related to Afghanistan. The regulations provide mechanisms to designate certain persons and entities involved in jeopardizing the peace, security, and stability of Afghanistan.

This notice supplements prior financial sanctions communications issued by the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation from 28 January 2026 onward. It explicitly lists new entries, amendments, and removals on the UK Sanctions List affecting individuals and organizations linked to Afghanistan-related activities.

The issuance of these updated sanctions notices maintains the UK's adherence to international obligations and reflects ongoing monitoring and revision of sanctioned parties in Afghanistan. The document serves as the latest official record of sanctions listings managed by UK authorities.
