Egypt Advances Regional Grain Hub Project in Suez Canal Zone
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly declared that the proposed regional grain logistics hub located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone is backed decisively by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The President has issued directives for rapid progress on the project, highlighting its strategic importance.
Madbouly stated the initiative aims to strengthen Egypt's influence in grain trade across North Africa and the Middle East while enhancing food security. The project involves the preparation of a comprehensive feasibility study focusing on technical, economic, and logistical factors prior to implementation.
The site's advantageous positioning within the Suez Canal Economic Zone offers access to critical infrastructure and global shipping routes, positioning it as a significant regional grain storage and trade facility. Egyptian authorities reported interest from multiple countries in participating, indicating international confidence in Egypt's capacity to manage large-scale projects.
