ADDED launches Entrepreneurial Families Initiative in Al Ain

Abu Dhabi's Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has launched the "Entrepreneurial Families Initiative" in Al Ain, in collaboration with Majalis Abu Dhabi in the Citizens and Community Affairs Office of the Presidential Court and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority (SSA). The initiative is designed to enable entrepreneurial families and households to participate more actively in the emirate's economic ecosystem.

The programme will deliver a series of awareness workshops across multiple locations in Al Ain. The workshops are intended to provide guidance on business set-up, licensing, and access to integrated government support services available within Abu Dhabi's business ecosystem.

The source says the initiative will be delivered through community platforms in partnership with Majalis Abu Dhabi to ensure direct engagement with target audiences. ADDED says the initiative is part of its ongoing effort to enable SMEs, strengthen private sector participation, and support sustainable economic growth and diversification.

The department says the programme is meant to simplify market entry, enhance regulatory awareness, and broaden participation in economic activities across the emirate. The workshops are also designed to equip participants with the knowledge required to formalise and develop their business activities.

They will increase awareness of the regulatory frameworks and services provided by the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA), which is described as ADDED's arm for developing and regulating the business sector. The stated purpose is to support ease of doing business and compliance across Abu Dhabi.

Following the workshops, specialised training programmes will be held in Al Ain Region throughout the year. Those programmes will focus on areas including e-commerce and financial management, and will highlight opportunities in the digital economy and priority sectors.

ADDED Undersecretary Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei said Al Ain recorded a 29% increase in new economic licences issued during 2025.
