Albanian man charged over small boat people smuggling probe in Surrey

A man has been arrested and charged in the United Kingdom following a National Crime Agency investigation into people smuggling linked to small boat crossings. Albanian national Vilson Halili, 40, was arrested by NCA officers in Redhill, Surrey, on Thursday 25 June.

After questioning by investigators, Halili was charged with two counts of conspiring to facilitate illegal immigration. The charges relate to crossings that happened in 2021 and 2022, according to the source.
