U.S. Attorney's Office Files 111 Border-Related Cases in Southern California

Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of California filed 111 border-related cases this week, according to the U.S. The cases included charges of bringing in aliens for financial gain, reentering the U.S. after deportation, and importation of controlled substances.

The office said the Southern District of California is the fourth-busiest federal district, largely because of the volume of border-related crimes. The district covers San Diego and Imperial counties and shares a 140-mile border with Mexico.
