The companies said the partnership brings together AMMROC's depot-level aircraft maintenance, airframe services, component support and military fleet sustainment expertise with Airbus Defence and Space's global experience as an aerospace original equipment manufacturer. Under the MoU, both sides will examine opportunities to establish Airbus-qualified maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities for regional operators.

The cooperation will also look at sustainment solutions for Airbus military platforms, including the C295 tactical transport aircraft and the A330 MRTT multi-role tanker transport aircraft. AMMROC chief executive Jasem Al Marzooqi said the agreement marks an important milestone in the company's effort to expand its capabilities and strengthen collaboration with major aerospace manufacturers.

The parties will also assess Airbus technical expertise, engineering support, training programmes and the potential to manufacture selected aircraft components at AMMROC facilities.
