U.S. Attorney's Office Files 115 Border-Related Cases in Southern California

Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of California filed 115 border-related cases this week, according to the U.S. The cases include charges of bringing in aliens for financial gain, reentering the U.S. after deportation, and importation of controlled substances.

The office said the Southern District of California is the fourth-busiest federal district, with activity driven largely by border-related crimes. The district covers San Diego and Imperial counties.

The district shares a 140-mile border with Mexico. It includes the San Ysidro Port of Entry, described as the world's busiest land border crossing, linking San Diego and Tijuana.
