Space42, Leonardo DRS sign MoU on UAE national security mission systems
Space42, the UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Leonardo DRS in Abu Dhabi to integrate Leonardo DRS mission systems with Space42's secure satellite connectivity. The companies said the agreement is intended to boost sovereign national security across the UAE and advance protected communications for mission use.

Under the MoU, Leonardo DRS will contribute expertise in C5ISR mission systems, while Space42 will provide secure, AI-enabled satellite communications and Beyond Line of Sight connectivity. The two companies said they will explore the joint design and integration of advanced mission capabilities for the UAE, with a focus on resilient, mission-ready networks and secure connectivity beyond terrestrial systems.
Ahmed AlMehrzi, Space42's Chief Commercial Officer , Government, said it is a strategic priority for the company to be recognised as a trusted leader in secure connectivity. Denny Crumley, Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business unit, said the MoU marks a significant step forward in supporting UAE national security priorities with advanced integrated capabilities.
