Singapore Armed Forces joins FPDA Exercise Suman Warrior 2026 in Kuantan

The Singapore Armed Forces participated in the 34th edition of Exercise Suman Warrior, a Five-Power Defence Arrangements land-focused exercise hosted by the Malaysian Armed Forces at the Joint Warfare Centre, Joint Forces Headquarters in Kuantan, Malaysia. The exercise ran from 14 to 24 September 2026.

About 150 participants from FPDA member nations took part in a Brigade Command Post Exercise. The exercise focused on conventional operations and gave participants opportunities to practice command decision-making and staff procedures within a combined operations mission context.

The SAF delegation numbered 18 personnel and was led by Senior Lieutenant Colonel (NS) Lim Kim Soon, Daniel, Chief of Staff, 3rd Singapore Infantry Brigade. He said the SAF's participation reflects a continued commitment to working closely with partners to promote regional cooperation and professional exchange, and to build trust and confidence needed to strengthen interoperability and enhance combined operations capability.

The text also says the FPDA was formed in 1971 and that the SAF regularly participates in other FPDA exercises, including Exercise Bersama Lima and Exercise Bersama Shield.
