Meloni joins G7 emergency video meeting on energy security and market stability
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni participated today in an extraordinary video-conference meeting of G7 leaders on energy security. The leaders agreed on a coordinated response to volatility in energy markets.

In her intervention, Meloni set out measures adopted by the Italian government to limit the impact of price increases on families and businesses. She cited the fuel price cap obtained from major oil companies, measures on excise duties, and proposals presented by Italy to the European Commission.
Meloni also backed coordinated action on energy stocks, with a focus on diesel. She further relaunched Italy's proposal for a structured dialogue between the G7 and Gulf countries.
