Faith security training

The UK Home Office has launched the Faith Security Training (FST) programme, providing free security awareness training to faith communities across England and Wales. This initiative aims to bolster the protection of places of worship and associated faith centres against hate crimes and other serious security incidents.
The training is delivered by CDS Support using both multi-faith and faith-specific content tailored to the unique security concerns of Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, and Sikh groups. It focuses on enhancing knowledge around security risks and practical preparedness measures.
Face-to-face sessions are offered to anyone responsible for the safety and security of worship venues in England and Wales, helping communities reach a uniform minimum standard of security awareness. An online training option is expected to launch soon to expand accessibility.
By strengthening security capabilities within faith communities, the program aims to reduce vulnerabilities, foster safer environments for congregations, and build resilience against potential threats or hate-motivated attacks.
